Colossus is an Electric Piano Device inspired by Kensuguro’s incredible Setanta tres patch for the modular. I have to say that when I first heard this patch, I was blown away. I’ve been wanting to make this for a while now and when I finally got round to it, despite the fact I already had a modular patch to base it on it’s not been as easy as I thought to recreate. Colossus is built from scratch (no modular modules in there) and features a few alterations & additions to Ken’s algo. … All feedback is most welcome. Enjoy

I tried the FLU_LIQ with the guitar for a while, and I can assure you,
this is the best I´ve had since the Electro Harmonix ´s Electric Mistress, way back in in the mid-seventies, and not near as noisy as the Mistress.
In fact, it´s possible to make an almost exact copy of the Mistress´s sound, minus the noice, wich I don´t miss.

I forgot about trying to create a Liquid effect long ago as phasers and flangers and chorus always introduce artifacts that I wasn’t seeking.
I know this is what I have yearned for years ago.
I use to try a slow phaser on a rotary, you name it, and could never get it.
This has to be the one that escaped me, but was captured by you.
You have made so many nice things that work really well, but you hit this one out of the park IMO.

This is my first device using the SDK. There’s probably some kinks and wrinkles to be addressed, so please leave a comment if you find something
It’s really not anything new, as it’s based heavily on the Arp Odyssey. Also, I have no access to atoms in SDK 5.1, so I had to make do with what was available as modules.
Sharc has been very helpfull, and made a sample&hold module for me. Hats off!
Anyway, have at it and please leave comments and ideas (I already have a few). It should work all the way back to Scope 4.0. I had it running on a Luna II card with 3 voices.
I made a layout for iPad app “TB MIDI Stuff”, so you can sit at the keyboard with your iPad and program the synth. I’ve attached the file, in case any of you folks use that app. On that note, I can’t wait till SDK6 gets to a usable point, so we can start implementing OSC
The layout (or page as I think it’s called) is not comprehensive, but most things are there. Anyway you can easily edit/add in the app (one of the things I really like about it).
Also the synth (and this page) follows the the way cc-messages are set up for the Prodyssey. So you could program the synth from the hardware Prodyssey (not sure that would make sense thou )

Fooxer: a Loop-mixing device. Mix and loop two stereo signals.
1: input gain and VU.
2: select one of four loop delay lines.
3: delaytime defined by Clock Divider (synced to midi clock)
4: select loop delay rhythm – punctuated, straight, triplet.
5: choose Clock Divider or potentiometer delay time.
6: delaytime defined by potentiometer (not synced).
7: master gain and VU.
8: select loop mode:
9: manual loop mode – switch on loop in turning fader to the right.
10:random loop mode – choose when a random loop will probably occur.
11:random loop mode – choose how often a random loop will probably occur.
12:sequenced loop mode – choose steps to be looped. For Ramp retriggering, use midi notes.
13:12dB Lp and Hp filters.
14:three insert Fx with dry/wet crossfade.
15:independent channel1<->channel2 crossfades for bass, mids and highs
16:crossover frequencies for Low-Mid and Mid-High
17:link/unlink button – if linked, all three crossfaders will react the same.
18:don’t forget to set appropriate bmp number.
19:recognized sample rate and Ulli values. If these values don’t match, change and then change back to original value.

An automatic switch.
If a signal present at the input 2 automatic switch to the input 2. Input 1 is now muted.
If no signal is present at input 2 automatic switch to input 1.

– 12 vintage-style analogue drum sounds (14, if hihat seperations are included):
hihats (3 segments, for eg: closed/ open/ semi-closed)
– each sound has its own output, or can be mixed internally, with the onboard mixer (includes individual level and pan controls to stereo output)
– each sound can be muted (individual out and stereo mix out) and mapped anywhere on the control keyboard
– stereo mix output includes left and right level controls and a stereo split spatializer (makes stereo field wider)
– bassdrums are unique from each other: one being an ultra-low frequency sub-kick, the other a more punchy, attack-oriented kick
– snares have morphing tone parameters (sine to saw) and each snare has a unique noise filter, giving each snare a slightly different sound-timbre from the other
– the toms feature morphing tone parameters, as well, (sine to square) with additional pulsewidth controls
– the hihats feature a highpass filter (filters all three segments simultaneously), for onboard resonant tweaking
– every sound features a feedback and a phase shift parameter, giving the sound a metallic edge and amazing new timbre control (phase shift only functions when feedback is used)
– the plasma has all custom analogue-style percussion algorithms, designed with a decidedly electronic sound in mind
– very powerful and expressive sonically: tight velocity control, huge bass-presence, rich percussive timbre variety
– puts an end to thin, wimpy pseudo-virtual analogue drum sounds! the sounds are huge right out of the box… no need for excessive EQing or compression to get the punch you crave!

Just a little device I wanted for my work- /practice-space. It’s probably overdoing it, but I like having this in a small window, so I can have other things like fx and synths visible, when playing with a band here It’s a bit hungry on dsp, but remember that 6 stereo inputs are individually mixed to 6 stereo out.
There’s a small “inconsistency”. The settings panel will show up detached, trying it’s best to have nothin to do with the mixer, until you move the mixer panel.
Please let me know, if you find a bug It does run on Scope4 (if anyone didn’t catch the update offer from SC ).
